Azerbaijan, Israel prepare for upcoming bilateral business forum
During the meeting in Baku, both sides welcomed the recent encounter between the Azerbaijani and Israeli presidents in Davos, where key matters on the bilateral agenda were addressed. “During the conversation, satisfaction was expressed regarding the meeting between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Israel that took place a few days ago in Davos, during which issues related to the bilateral agenda were discussed,” the president’s press office said.
Officials highlighted that ties between Azerbaijan and Israel continue to expand across multiple sectors, including trade, the economy, energy, tourism, and other areas of cooperation.
The Israeli foreign minister noted that his delegation included representatives from major companies and the broader business community, stressing the importance of the planned forum. “Gideon Sa'ar reported that during his visit, he was accompanied by representatives of big business and the business community, and emphasized that the upcoming Azerbaijani-Israeli business forum would contribute to the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries,” the statement said.
Both sides also commended the role of the intergovernmental commission in advancing bilateral relations. The Israeli official expressed appreciation for Azerbaijan’s approach toward its Jewish community, with the readout noting: “He (Saar) thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the care of the Jewish community in Azerbaijan at the state level.”
The Israeli foreign minister is scheduled to continue his visit with additional meetings in Baku later in the day, including talks with Azerbaijan’s foreign minister, before departing for Kazakhstan.
